UnitedHealthcare, headquartered at 5701 Katella Ave. in Cypress, is an operating division of UnitedHealth Group, the largest single health carrier in the United States. The company’s commitment to its surrounding community can be seen not only in its platinum sponsorship of the Cypress Festival but also in such other activities as Easter baskets donated by its employees to the Boys and Girls Club of Cypress.

“Sponsors” and “sponsorships” are two important words to the Cypress Community Festival. Each year, the Festival Association invites businesses, business leaders and civic groups to become sponsors of the largest single-day festival in Orange County.
Sponsorships undergird annual preparations for the city-wide Cypress Community Festival. Sponsors get credit for the sure-footing of the Festival by lending their names and financial support. Festival organizers take every opportunity to reach out and recognize festival sponsors.
This year, Bronze Sponsor West Anaheim Medical Center leaped at the opportunity to sponsor the Festival, becoming the first sponsor to sign up. The medical center is registered as the Festival’s official FIRST Sponsor.
Established in 1967, West Anaheim Medical Center is a 219-bed acute-care and general medical/surgical hospital with a complete range of services. The facility is located at 3033 West Orange Ave. in Anaheim.
Thomson Reuters, an internationally-recognized source of business information, listed West Anaheim Medical Center as one of its “Top 100 Hospitals in the Nation” in 2009.

Get ahead of the pack and reserve your space at the 2012 Cypress Community Festival, to be celebrated this year on Saturday, July 28, at Oak Knoll Park in Cypress. There are available openings for Craft/Artisan, Non-Profit Organization Game, Non-Profit Organization Information, Non-Profit Organization Food, and Independent Specialty Corner booths.
Each outdoors space is 10’x10′. Preferred location booths sold out early last year, and ALL booths were sold out even before the application deadline. Attendance for 2011 was estimated to be in excess of 30,000 people, making this Orange County’s largest one-day festival.
You can download and print an application form in under two minutes by visiting the festival’s website, http://www.cypressfestival.com. Simply click on “Vendor Information” in the Main Menu to the left of the page, and then select “2012 Booth/Vendor Info & Application”.
Booth categories and fees are as follows:
Craft/Artisan – ONLY hand-crafted or artistically altered by the vendor. NO FOOD. $60.00 for a Cypress resident, $55.00 for a Cypress Resident Senior (60 and over), and $65.00 for a non-resident.
Game – Non-Profit Organization; $55.00 for a Cypress resident, $65.00 for a non-Cypress-based organization.
Information – Non-Profit Organization; $30.00
Food – Non-Profit Organization; $55.00. There is an additional $40.00 charge per outlet, for a total of 20 amps. The vendor must provide at least one 50′ heavy-duty extension cord. Generators are prohibited.
Independent Specialty Corner – $75.00. A home-based business that does not have a storefront, retail location, kiosk, free-standing machine, vendor cart, etc. nor is affiliated with any commercialized or logoed entity.

The date for the 32nd annual Cypress Community Festival has been set for Saturday, July 28, 2012. The public is invited to attend this annual “birthday party” for the City of Cypress and admission is free. This huge event has become a tradition in the community as families, friends and neighbors commemorate the date of incorporation of Cypress by enjoying the Festival.
The Festival is produced by a dedicated group of volunteers known as the Cypress Community Festival Association. This group of about 20 community residents meets on the third Wednesday of each month from January through September to plan and produce the celebration.
The Cypress Community Festival is held at Oak Knoll park located at 5700 Orange Avenue. Festival day begins at 7 a.m. with the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast. Then there is the annual 5K/10K run/walk which starts at 7:30 a.m. The Festival grounds are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Craft vendors from all over the southland bring their wares to sell and display. Crafters, artisans, non-profit groups and individuals desiring booth space may email: email@example.com.
The event is the largest one-day Festival in Orange County and draws about 30,000 visitors each year. Families will discover activities for all ages. There are food vendors, rides for the kids, game booths and clowns.
The annual classic car show draws a large crowd. Last year there were many participants in the hot and spicy chili cook-off and the salsa contest. In addition, the Cypress Chamber of Commerce conducts a Business Expo at the Festival where many companies large and small are able to display their products and services as they reach out to the community.
“We are looking forward to an exciting Festival again this year,” said Carol Fafara, the Festival Entertainment Chair. There will be shows throughout the day on four stages. Planned artists and entertainers for the 2012 Festival include: country artist Peter Brandon, the Chris Anderson Group Go Country 105 FM, and many other bands, artists and dancers.
Past Festivals have included appearances by Snoopy from Knott’s Berry Farm, a magic show by Ronald McDonald and a police dog demonstration by the Cypress Police Canine Unit. Local non-profit organizations have information booths to let the community know about their activities and Festival visitors are invited to cheer for their favorite youth softball teams.
The Festival is dependent on sponsorship support from local corporations, businesses and individuals.
